THE QUIET MESMERIZING TIMES

This picture of a Cheetal (Spotted deer) with an Indian One-Horned Rhino in the background is a pin attraction as it shows the diversity and the manner in which the nature carries on the uniqueness of its various components. The deer licking its thigh and the rhino grazing behind, both are in the best of their moods and poses. The quiet moments of the forest where the herbivorous herds are sighted grazing is a great pass-time.
With the perfect colors and the perfect mood, this picture is worth the title.

ROYAL BENGAL TIGER

This is an exceptionally magnificent creature with the finest beauty among all the mammals. The Royal Bengal Tiger , which is actually my favorite one, is a creature of high respect and charm. Where the whole world dies to get just a glance of this creature , i feel myself extremely lucky that i got to shoot her. Each and every move it makes and all of its grace just melts the heart. Once it looks into your eyes, u heart misses a beat , due to part excitement, part fear but completely respect in you for this creature. All the projects and campaigns that have been made to protect this creature will be useless unless we take part in it individually. The name truly fits on this animal, the golden  shine makes it Royal  and the majestic pattern of stripes which is like the pattern of waves on the surface of golden water. I found this tigress lying down under the sun as it was winter evening. I was waiting for it to get up so that i may take a shot. As the sun moved from that place it got up and i got my shot.

EVENING AND A STARK

Here's another one for Painted Stark. The stark is having its evening snacks, a big toad. on observing it closely, you will find the toad being crushed between the two mandibles. Just below its eye, if you see carefully, you will find the toad which is just about to be swallowed. The quiet background and the quiet atmosphere with ringing sounds of crickets, which was the only sound i could hear while clicking this photograph, is one of the best feelings, according to me. The dim sunlight , the quietness and just me and the bird with its prey, the bird eating its prey and me sitting and clicking its picture, is altogether a different feeling!!!

HAVE YET NOT FACED THE HARDSHIPS

This picture of two White Tiger cubs playing is a picture of millions. This picture has been clicked at Nawab Wajid Ali Shah zoo in Lucknow,U.P. .Although this picture could have been better but what i have got means a lot for me and this photo has a special place in my album because it has may words behind it. The feeling of joy, innocence and carefree phase of life is well exhibited in this photograph. These little souls just ask for your attention and a helping hand, so that in future we get to see more such photographs. The two cubs looking directly into the lens adds to the beauty of this picture!!!

TIME FOR A BATH

This photograph clicked at Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, is of a herd of elephants bathing. in the scorching heat of the sun, with such a huge body , elephants need to water themselves heavily. The beautiful sight of nearly fifty elephants taking bath is a rare as well as a magnificent sight. As you can see in this picture , there is a little calf along with the herd. It is so small that it can be easily preyed upon by tigers or leopards. The herd is too possessive and caring for the calf as elephants are quite wise and they have a high sense of family feeling. In this picture, you can clearly see , four big elephants walking surrounding the baby. I couldn't reach too close to the herd this time but somehow i managed to get a clear shot of the herd!!!

ON ITS HEATER

As you can see in this picture , a small squirrel is resting on a branch of a Neem tree with its belly flattened. At that time , when i clicked this picture, we had log-fire burning under the tree and since the branch was just above the fire, it had become warm and this little friend came and lied down over it in order to get some warmth. It was a season somewhere between late monsoon and start of winters. These  little this around us do not get our attention as they are now a part of our regular life but somewhere due to human activities even these creatures are facing a lot of trouble. Kindly, take good care of them and even two slice s of your bread in the morning and little water in a small bowl would be enough for the first step towards their look-after!!!

CHIRPS AND HOPS

This little Scaly-Breasted Munia caught my interest, as it was hopping in the bushes in my garden. The bird really looks beautiful  and it felt really nice to sit and observe it playing. This is a male bird. The female was also there but i couldn't shoot it with my camera as these little birds do not provide such chances of shooting them. This is the only reason, i never keep my camera down even for a second , once i enter into any forest or am sitting in green are , in case i miss a fleeting shot. Presence of these little birds around us and to hear their chirping is really a feeling of immense pleasure and peace!!!

SMALL WHITE PAWS

This White-Tiger cub at Lucknow zoo has become a major attraction of the visitors. Two cute cubs playing together, jumping licking each other's face, rolling down here and there is a delightful sight. This was just a random shot but the cute and curious expression on the face of the cub, as if he has spotted something above and is keen to know what it is, is the only specialty of this picture, i guess!!!

ONE STEP TOWARDS THEIR BRIGHT FUTURE

A Painted Stark , as in this picture seems to be in isolation and to justify the effect and the message of the photograph, the black background suits it the best. The picture has been clicked in such a way that the message i wanted to convey is well displayed in this. I saw it standing beside a dirty swamp and in the same pose , without moving even a bit. a complete isolation feeling. Here, the darkness all around it suggests the present condition of animals and nature that they are going through a very dark period of devastation. The sun-rays falling on the beak of the bird is to show the hope that one day they will be leading a better life!!!

TRENDY CHECKS ON THE SCALES

This is a Checkered Killback , a non-venomous snake, which can be found commonly anywhere in some green area. I have many-a-times confronted this snake and till now , what i have observed , it is quite bold , although it is harmless and in order to click this picture , i caught this snake and brought it down on a platform of dried grass and the second i held it with my hands till the second i put it down, it was continuously trying to bite me. An experience of mine related to this creature. People often take it as a danger sign on seeing this snake due to its bold and aggressive nature and kill it. I request public to kindly get into the books of snakes and try to understand them better!!!!

SUBJECT OF MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY

The picture is of a herd of  Black Buck   with a well grown-up male sitting aside and capturing the pin-focus of the photograph. This species was declared as threatened and strong actions have also been taken in order to save this breed of bucks. here we see the herd sitting under the sun and taking a sun-bath. It is one of the major attractions for the photographers who wish to photograph the fauna of India. It has a charm of its own, especially the curls in its long pointed horns. Along with the 'Musk Deer' , this one is also my favorite breed of deer and i specially give it a place of high importance in my list of Indian wildlife and also i admire its beauty a lot!!!

ATTRACT AND ATTACK

Russel's Viper , one of the famous and well known snake of India. The deadly reptile carries an important mark in the lists of snakes. mostly hidden from the contemporary world, this snake is hard to spot especially when you are trying to find it in bushes or forests. Even i got t see it under a pile of dry woods kept in my backyard. the patterns made on its body may seem to be good but that's the sign of a deadly reptile hiding behind. not so aggressive , it attacks only when it is disturbed, its first try is to run away from humans. the picture has been taken with the flash on and gives you the clear image of the snake!!!

FEATHERS OF A GREENISH-YELLOW SHINE

This picture of a Yellow-footed Green Pigeon  sitting on a thin branch of a tree brings to us another example of the beauty of nature and the diversity in it. Green pigeons are uncommon and also they are not a pin interest of photographers but the bird of a bright green color grabbed my attention as it was hopping from one branch to another. The whole of flock was present but as you must be knowing , birds do not give such shots easily. I found this one sitting down patiently and posing to be clicked. Undoubtedly , a beautiful bird and yes the background favored me a lot in this shot!!!

SCATTERING SUN-RAYS

Not necessary to be a big mammal with paws, horns or a bird flying high. Some times a little insect like this dragonfly resting on the point of  a twig can also get a place in an album like this. A beautiful sight to see it sitting with the saffron rays of the evening sun passing through its translucent wings. These things are difficult to be shot as they rarely provide us the time to focus our camera on them, maintaining  the same pose.

KING OF BEASTS

The Asiatic Lion , the king of all beasts , an animal of majestic beauty and the royal, bold and boastful appearance which it carries adds up to its beauty. It lives in prides and unlike tigers , leopards and other cats , it cannot live its life solitary. The second you get to see the beast moving towards you , that feeling, that fear , that passion , everything, it cannot be described in words. when it looks into your eyes, you see your complete life in them as it is only one bound and the person would be finished. All what this creature deserves is respect and more respect!!!

QUIET AND CURIOUS

Deer always are always easy and to spot and it gives peace and joy seeing them galloping from here to there and their quiet personality. In this picture we see a male Spotted deer (cheetal)  standing with its normal attitude and the curious , scared and cute appearance. I found it crossing the road while we were wandering in the forest and to add to my luck, it stood still gazing at us. The animal adds up to nearly all my safaris providing at least one good shot!!!

SMALL SHOULDERS AND A BIG LOAD

White-tiger cub.  The ambition that you see in his eyes, does it make you feel something??? To me , it does. White tiger , a creature of beauty, fury and a subject of respect and worship, is not only to be praised but also to be cared and regarded as the power and beauty of the fauna of Indian-subcontinent. A small cub of this species matters a lot for not only the people working for its safety and breeding but also for the upcoming generations , as they need to see this magic of nature, the albinism in the Royal Bengal tiger which gradually came out as a new breed , after multiple cross breeding in two an albino and a Bengal tiger. A wonder itself!!!

SUNSET AND A MOTHER'S HEART

This picture is of a Rhesus Macaque  mother breast-feeding her young one. A normal  family behavior. This scene gave me relief and a thought of the feelings and emotions which even the animals possess like humans. Then we are after their lives and destroying their families , herds, and their habitat. I got to see this beside a road just a few kilometers away from the city... a wonderful evening and under the setting sun, mother and baby sharing love and affection. This view made me to stop and take out my camera and capture the beautiful scene!!!

SWIFT AND ROYAL

Here you can see a Besra   sitting on the branch of an old tree. The beauty of this pic lies in the bright and saturated blue sky and the dried branches of the tree which give a direct contrast to the personality of the bird. We also see that the soft copper brown color of bird matches perfectly with the color of the dried bark of the tree. I found this one posing right above my head with the sun-rays falling over it and it provided me a perfect shot of a preying bird.

BLUE GEM IN GREEN-LAND

This picture brings to you a clear display of a stork-billed kingfisher  , sitting comfortably on a broken branch , right above a small ditch filled with water. patiently waiting for some small fish to get spotted and to attack it. This beautiful bright blue colored bird with a large red beak , grabbed my attention suddenly as i was passing by and it surely deserves to be here. In order to get this picture , i got to go down into the pond, better than to be called a ditch, until the water reached my knees. Keeping the thought of snakes or small crocodiles, which were surely there in it as this pond is connected to the Ghaghra river, i jumped into it and after giving it a few trials, i managed to get this picture... and even the bird supported me as it waited patiently on that branch making it easier for me to take the right position and right shot too!!!
